In this article, I share seven of the best thrift stores in Charlotte—each one offering something special, from curated vintage collections to budget-friendly home goods. I’ve personally visited each of these stores, and I can’t wait to share what makes them worth checking out!
I’ve always loved thrifting—it is a mix of therapy and a treasure hunt. I always look for unique vintage pieces and name-brand clothing. Over the years, I’ve explored countless thrift stores across Charlotte and the surrounding metro area and I’ve come to find a handful that stand out.

- Assistance League of Charlotte 5426 Old Pineville Road, Charlotte, NC 28247
Open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10 am- 4 pm
Donations are accepted Saturdays 10 am -3 pm
The Assistance League is a thrift store worth planning a trip to! The store was well organized and clean. I found a good selection of vintage, art, housewares, jewelry, shoes, and clothing. It was voted the best thrift shop in Charlotte by Creative Loafing and picked as the #1 thrift shop by Charlotte Stories. I shared a video about it here.

2. Goodwill Boutique 5301 Wilkinson Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28208
Monday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Tuesday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Wednesday – Saturday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
The Goodwill Boutique in Southend takes the higher quality donations and curates them by color in a boutique setting. Clothing includes name-brand women’s and men’s clothing, jewelry, shoes and accessories. If you like to shop for used clothes on a budget it’s a fun way to do it!

3. Carolina Value Thrift multiple locations across the Charlotte metro
Monday -Sat 9am – 9pm
Sunday 11am – 7pm
*most locations but check before you go!
Carolina Value Thrift (formerly Value Village) has 3 locations in Charlotte and a location in Gastonia, Kannapolis, and Mooresville. I typically go to the Mooresville location and have found everything from dresses to vintage tennis rackets, lighting, books, and coffee mugs. It is a traditional thrift store so selection will vary by day.

4. Wanda’s Good Stuff 557 Cabarrus Ave W, Concord, NC 28027
Monday-Friday 9am – 3pm
and first Saturday of each month
This store is a hidden gem in Concord, NC. It is an old grocery store (the Dover Supermarket) filled to the brim with Christmas decor, glassware, blankets, and more. The downstairs is filled to the brim with more things including some furniture. I share a video review of it here.

5. Hidden Treasures Thrift & Consignment 4035 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28209
Open 7 days a week. I’ve seen varying info on hours, call ahead and ask!
This spot is unique because it is a combination thrift store/consignment store and is set up booth style. There are some furniture pieces, and then your typical mix of vintage and newer eclectic pieces. Located in Southend, it is just a few minutes from the Goodwill Boutique.

6. Habitat Restore Wendover & Julia’s Cafe and Books 1133 N Wendover Rd, Charlotte, NC
Open Monday – Saturday 9am – 6pm
I love the setup of this thrift store. I typically enter from the coffee shop side to check out the books, then walk over to the thrift store. The selection of furniture and household goods is typical for a Restore, and I almost always walk away with something. I purchased 2 kerosene lamps on my last visit.

7. Salvation Army 1011 Central Ave Charlotte, NC
This thrift store is in Plaza Midwood and is just an 8-minute drive from the Habitat Restore Wendover. They have a decent selection of reasonably priced furniture and some housewares. We spent the majority of our time in clothing where I found a lot of name-brand dresses, shirts, and leggings.

I have several more thrift stores to visit in the south Charlotte area. I’ve heard ZABS Place and Backyard Treasures are good in Matthews. I will share my review of them after I go!
