Oatmeal Cookies with Apple and Brown Butter Frosting

Growing up near the coast of Georgia, summer was my favorite season. I headed to the local beach with friends every chance I got. And I still love summer. But Autumn is my new favorite. The spiced seasonal food, crisp morning air, apple orchard visits, and vibrant falling leaves make my heart sing.
These spiced oatmeal cookies are soft and decadent. Made with fresh buttermilk and chopped Honeycrisp apples they are definitely worth making this Autumn season. The brown butter icing adds an extra nutty taste (without using any nuts, we are a nut free household!) My kids are picky eaters and they approve of these cookies!

These look, and sound, SO good! I’ve never made apple cookies, but this recipe would be a great place to start.
they are really good! I’ve made them before swapping out apples with dried cranberries if you aren’t an apple person 🙂
