This no churn key lime pie ice cream is made with fresh key lime pie pieces. The dessert is refreshing, tangy, and sweet. The graham cracker holds its crunch well, and who doesn’t love eating chunks of pie in their ice cream?

I made vanilla ice cream last month and have wanted to experiment with a different flavor. I will soon make this pie from scratch and mix it in the ice cream. But this busy Momma opted for easy. End of summer easy. 

Key Lime Pie is one of my favorite desserts. Key lime juice is a pale yellow (vs regular lime juice) and hails from Key West, Florida. The pie is tangy, smooth, and sweet. Perfect on a hot summer day. My pie was store-bought but if you are in the mood to make it from scratch try this recipe from Smitten Kitchen.

No Churn Key Lime Pie Ice Cream Ingredients

  • Heavy cream
  • Can condensed milk 
  • Key lime pie, chopped into pieces
  • Key lime juice
  • Green food coloring
  • Graham crumbs and sanding sugar, optional

How to Make Key Lime Pie Ice Cream

Whip whipping cream in a mixer until peaks form. Gently fold in condensed milk. Mix lime juice with food coloring and gently stir in the cream mixture. Pour into bread loaf pan and freeze for 1 hour (until set), then stir in pie chunks.

Freeze until firm, about 6 hours. Garnish with extra graham crumbs and sanding sugar. 

Note: Freeze the pie pieces until ready to mix them into the ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (16oz) heavy cream
  • 1 (14oz) can condensed milk
  • 2 cups key lime pie, chopped to 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 teaspoon Key lime juice
  • 1 drop green food coloring
  • Extra graham crumbs and sanding sugar, optional

Instructions

    1. Whip whipping cream in mixer until peaks form.
