I make at least one homemade ornament set each year. This year I used craft wood slices to make a dried flower ornament. DIY wood slice ornaments are easy to customize and with a little help from an adult, a child-friendly craft.

Wood Slice Ornaments with Dried Flowers
Supply List
- Wood Slice Ornaments (similar)
- Mod Podge Gloss Sealer and Small Paint Brush
- Assorted Dried Pressed Flowers
- Ribbon and Scissors
- Hair Dryer and Candle Lighter (optional)
1. Remove piece of twine from Wood Slice ornaments
If your wood slice ornaments come with attached twine, remove them with scissors to add a piece of ribbon.
2. Apply a Thin Layer of Mod Podge to Wood Slice Ornaments
Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the wood using a paintbrush. Add a flower then another layer of Mod Podge over the top of the flower.
3. Dry the Ornament
You can dry your ornament more quickly using a hair dryer. Allow the ornament to dry completely (glue will go from white to clear) before hanging.
4. Attach ribbon
Select a thin ribbon to tie onto the ornament. I used a candle lighter to make the edge of my ribbon more stiff and easier to slide through the ornament hole.
